The Clinical Devices division of AxSys HealthTech has developed Exceliview, a unique product that enables remote monitoring of patients. Exceliview incorporates advanced embedded technology to continuously monitor the health of patients at home or in hospital. The device can be used to communicate automatically with the healthcare provider in case of patient distress or as a means to monitor and control chronic diseases. It interfaces with our software product Excelicare to provide a complete solution for chronic disease management.
The heart of the product is a generic 'black box' that has a variety of input and output channels capable of processing digital and analogue signals. The 'black box' has a range of communication facilities that include:

This device is capable of monitoring, displaying and communicating a large variety of parameters such as:

In addition a variety of devices such as weighing scales, blood glucose monitors, drug infusion pumps, lights, pressure pads, vibration sensors can be connected and controlled by this device. The combination of Exceliview and Excelicare provides a complete solution for Chronic Disease Management as well as for health surveillance. In addition, Exceliview can also be used as a health alarm for patients connected to remote monitoring stations. Exceliview may be described as a home-hub that is connected to multiple devices and sensors at one end and to a remote monitoring station at the other end. Exceliview's in-built display may be used to communicate medication reminders as well as interact with patients and carers through the use of questionnaires. An audio system capable of speech synthesis and sounding alarms complements the display for communications. Exceliview automatically communicates with the remote monitoring station and interacts with Excelicare. Excelicare stores the protocols required to manage patients and will command and control the behaviour of Exceliview through the Internet or other communication channels such as a modem. All information collected via Exceliview is logged and documented in Excelicare.
